Ryan Warsofsky has done a solid job in his first year as San Jose Sharks coach, and now he's got a major promotion coming as the next Team USA Head Coach.

The San Jose Sharks may be at the bottom of the NHL again, but under Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky, they've certainly taken some steps forward, with many believing he can be the coach to lead them out of their current rebuild.
Now, it appears someone has been taking notice of him, as he has been handed a major promotion as he will now serve as the Head Coach of the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
Warsofsky was an assistant for the USA back at the 2023 World Championships for the United States, and now, he officially replaces Minnesota's John Hynes as the man in charged for the USA as they look to bounce back from their loss at the Four Nations.
Sure, the stage certainly won't be as big and many NHLers could pass on the opportunity with their eyes firmly set on the 2026 Olympic Games, but this is still a huge tournament with the hiring of Warsofsky being a major promotion for the 37-year old.
The Sharks definitely haven't improved their record under him, but as a team they've been much more connected and played better hockey, and with Team USA likely to have much more talent all over the ice, this is an opportunity for him to prove himself on a big stage.
We will wait and see what type of talent he's been given to coach the event, but if Warsofsky is the coach that many around the league believe him to be, this should be a breakout tournament for him as he looks to bring his experience in San Jose to the big international stage.
