Former NHL enforcer Billy Tibbetts unloaded on Jack Eichel online, yet the clip reveals more about a camp than any real feud.

Billy Tibbetts played 82 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers between 2000 and 2003. He now runs a five-month skills camp in Cranston, Rhode Island, at forty dollars a day.
His video accused Jack Eichel and Jack's father, Bob, of backing out of a promised drop-in to surprise campers. Then it turned personal, with Tibbetts calling both men names no editor needs to reprint.
"Jack Eichel, your dad's a scumbag and so are you Jack Eichel. F***ing geek. The ugliest kid in the NHL and you stink. Play with all the best players in the world and you can't get it done. F***ing scumbag, Jack Eichel, Bob Eichel, go f**k yourself. I don't want you to come to my camp, I don't need you.”

- Billy Tibbetts

The commitment Tibbetts describes is uncorroborated. It rests on his own telling and an anonymous Instagram account, with no Tier-1 insider and no Eichel-side confirmation anywhere.

The incentive nobody is naming

A low-cost camp lives on word of mouth, and a viral clip aimed at a Stanley Cup champion buys more reach than any flyer could. The rant is not a breakdown so much as distribution.
Reposting the slurs, as most sites did, completes the transaction for free.
Tibbetts has a documented, difficult history off the ice, detailed soberly by the Boston Globe this spring. That context matters, but it is separate from whether Eichel ever owed a stranger's rink anything.

Why Eichel is the wrong villain

Jack Eichel just finished a season as a Vegas Golden Knights centerpiece, a 2026 Team USA Olympian and a ninety-point scorer. A New England kid who reached the sport's ceiling has no obligation to validate a camp he never signed up for.
One man shouted into a phone, the internet did the rest, and Eichel was busy being one of the best players alive.

Is reposting the rant just free marketing for the camp?
