IIHF president Luc Tardif shares his opinion on the upcoming Olympics

For months now, the NHL has been hyping the upcoming Olympic Games as the second event since their return to the international stage following the success of the 2025 Four Nations Face Off.

While the 2026 Olympic Games are now less than a month away, the review on the ice and the arena for the hockey tournament has been less than stellar, with some fears over the quality of it given how important the NHL players heading there truly are.

One person who is not worried about how things will go however is IIHF President Luc Tardif, who expressed his confidence in the event despite the mishaps that have led up to the tournament.

Recently, he was asked whether or not there were worries over the NHL's involvement in the tournament and whether the issues would keep them away, and he kept his response to this very simple.

This comes on the back of Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly stating that if the arena isn't ready, the NHL won't come, but given the strides we've seen the construction team take in recent weeks, it appears things will be, at the very least, ready for hockey.

Whether or not it's the best quality ice we've ever seen, only time will tell, but right now, the IIHF and the IOC are confident that this tournament will go off perfectly, and with a month to go, we hope they are right.
