Gretzky trends in wrong direction due to angry Oilers fans
Wayne Gretzky's younger brother Keith has been trending in the wrong direction lately, due to all of the negative comments he's faced by Oilers fans online.
Keith Gretzky was named the assistant GM of the Edmonton Oilers back in 2016, and now that Ken Holland is no longer the general manager, it appears that Keith is now the front runner to assume that role.
«Again, I think Keith Gretzky can be Oilers' GM going forward. He's very smart, he's put the work in, he runs the farm team. There's such thing as rewarding and trusting people from within an organization with an advancement. Carolina did it with Eric Tulsky.»
Oilers fans were furious upon hearing that news, which led to the younger Gretzky to trend for all the wrong reasons on social media. It appears that fans absolutely do not want him taking over the team, despite the fact that the Oilers front office seems to have been in control of things very smoothly by how well they've been handling things this summer so far.
Since Keith was hired by the Oilers in 2016, he's done great work for the organization. There have been rumblings that he doesn't appear to be fully dedicated to take on such a big role, which is why there has been so much fan backlash.
