GM of Two Charged WJC Players' Junior Team Makes Disgusting Statement
The GM and President of the Kelowna Rockets has shared a concerning quote after facing backlash for leaving two murals up.
Rockets GM Shares Disgusting Comments
Since the 2018 WJC Team Canada scandal players' names were announced, the hockey world has been quick to condemn the players. However, the GM and President of the Kelowna Rockets, the WHL team that Dillon Dube and Cal Foote played for, has refused to take down a mural with the two players.
Paintings of former Kelowna Rockets players Cal Foote and Dillon Dubé remain in WHL team's wall of fame, after they were charged with S*** A*** by police in London, Ont.
The players were added to the team's wall of recognition during the summer of 2018.
Rockets president and GM Bruce Hamilton wouldn't discuss the now controversial artwork.
«I'm not getting caught up in this,» Hamilton told Globe and Mail reporter Patrick White.
This is clearly not the right response and it would be rather easy to paint over the two instead of "not getting caught up in this".
The Devisive Nature Of The Paintings
Fans have shared their opinions on the matter and there are clearly two sides to this argument.
If the two are found guilty of their crimes, then the murals will certainly be removed but till then, it seems like the Rockets will leave them up despite all that is going on.
