Over the past week, we've seen more than 100 players placed on waivers, and over the weekend, PuckPedia is suggesting at least another 100 to be waived.

After a long, dragged out off-season, the NHL's new campaign is almost upon us, and with the regular season just a few days away, all 32 teams have plenty of hope and optimism as they all chase the Stanley Cup.
They can only do that with a certain number of players however, and over the past few weeks, teams have begun dwindling their roster numbers down, meaning they've all utilized waivers at some point.

Expect Two of the Biggest Waiver Wire Days of the Season This Weekend

In the past week, we've seen no less than 100 players placed on waivers, and while few have been claimed, the cuts are becoming harder and harder for teams as the regular season approaches.
Now, it's not set to slow down, according to PuckPedia anyway, as they have now officially projected that no less than 100 more players will be waived between now an Tuesday's Opening Night, with teams still needing to trim their rosters further to become compliant with NHL rules.
With the cuts becoming tougher, there's a chance we'll see some much bigger names waived in the next few days, and with other teams looking to maximize their rosters, this is where we begin to see some big time claims.
Ultimately, we're not going to see any stars placed on waivers moving forward, but with every player still at an NHL training camp worth of a spot on their roster, don't be surprised to see some big names find themselves on waivers in the coming days.
