Jack Roslovic remains unsigned, and now it's been revealed that he had a multi-year offer on the table from Edmonton before turning it down for other offers.
Coming into the NHL off-season, Jack Roslovic wasn't one of the top names available, but with the regular season just a matter of days away, he remains the top name on the board.
That comes after he scored 22 goals and 39 points with the Carolina Hurricanes a season ago, and while there's
reportedly interest, as of right now, with the regular season just four days away, he hasn't found himself a team as of yet.
Jack Roslovic Turns Down Multi-Year Deal in Edmonton
After there was speculation surrounding this earlier in the off-season, NHL Insider Darren Dreger has now confirmed that Roslovic had a multi-year deal on the table from the Edmonton Oilers, but surprisingly, he bet on himself and turned it down.
According to Dreger, the offer from the Oilers was simply not enough, as the team were working to move some salary around at the time, so likely offered Roslovic a deal that was not enough compared to what he thought he would get.
Now, months later, he remains looking for a job, and although he'd still be a great fit with the Oilers, after shunning them earlier in the summer, it's highly unlikely that the team still want to bring him in ahead of the regular season.
Ultimately, betting on yourself in sports can sometimes pay off big, but sometimes, the market just doesn't develop the way players would want, and for Roslovic, it appears he made a big mistake on turning down the Oilers, as there's a chance that he now enters the 2025/26 campaign with no team at all.
