Pat Maroon recently retired from the NHL, and now, it appears his future after playing hockey may be revealed as he gets announced for an intriguing new role, and perhaps it's the one he was born to do following his career.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are heating up, and while beloved veteran Pat Maroon won't be featured on the ice following his retirement from the league, that doesn't mean we won't be seeing him during the post-season.
Following a great and successful career, Maroon announced his retirement from the Chicago Blackhawks and the NHL at the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign, with the two-time Stanley Cup winner calling it quits after a long run at the top level.
Many expected to see him in a role within hockey, but perhaps not this soon, as his next venture after playing has been revealed by an announcement on social media on Wednesday.
Maroon was last seeing firing up the crowd in St. Louis ahead of a round one matchup with the Winnipeg Jets, but now his future has likely been revealed after both he and Rick Tocchet will join the NHL on TNT desk for round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It isn't a full-time role yet, but knowing the type of personality that Maroon has, it would be crazy if an NHL network somewhere doesn't pay him to talk about hockey, as he has the natural charisma and the knowledge to be a fantastic personality on the air.
At this point however, it's just a temporary thing, but if this goes well in the post-season, don't be shocked to see Maroon given a full-time role covering the NHL starting as early as the 2025/26 campaign.
