Up 3-1 in the best of 7 series the Pittsburgh Penguins could have put the series against the New York Rangers away last night, instead they lost 5-3, saw their captain Sidney Crosby leave the ice with an injury, and Malkin cross-check Rooney in the face!
This was a very similar instance to a cross-check to the face Malkin made against Predators player Mark Borowiecki a few months ago, for which he was suspended.
With Crosby's status uncertain and the potential of a suspension looming for Malkin, a lot has changed for the Penguins, when they were leading the Rangers by a goal after the first period last night, looking to punch their ticket to the second round.
Penguins fans will hold their breath now.
