UPDATE: Keefe gives update on injured Maple Leafs forward - it's not good!
One of the biggest positives for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season has been the signing of free agent Michael Bunting. The Coyotes let Bunting walk in the offseason last year which has proved to be a major mistake. Bunting signed a two-year deal with the Maple Leafs for $950,000 AAV, and has blossomed on a line with Matthews and Marner.
Bunting currently has 23 goals, 63 points in 79 games, good for 6th on the Leafs in scoring. To put in perspective how bad of a move Arizona made, he would be leading the Coyotes in points right now.
Last night in a game against the Florida Panthers, Bunting took a puck to the face and was forced to leave the game.

This is very upsetting as this being the final week of the regular season, the Leafs were finally starting to get healthy and they will need a full lineup if they expect to contend with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Keefe shared this unfortunate news today regarding Bunting:
Sheldon Keefe on Michael Bunting: "He's going to miss some time, for sure, but I don't know how much."@TSN_Edge— Mark Masters (@markhmasters) April 24, 2022
"He's going to miss some time, for sure, but I don't know how much," admitted Keefe following Saturday's loss to the Panthers.
UPDATE: While everyone thought it was the puck to the face that forced Bunting out with an injury, it is actually a right leg injury that Bunting is expected to miss some time with.
