The Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens have already connected on a trade once this year which sent Tyler Toffoli to the Flames in exchange for Tyler Pitlick, Emil Heineman, conditional round 1 pick in the 2022 draft and round 5 pick in the 2023 draft.

Now it is a rumoured that they are working on another deal to send shut down defenceman Ben Chiarot to the Flames.

The return from the Flames this time is much more prestigious as they are asking for former first round pick Jakob Pelletier.

Jakob Pelletier is currently playing for Stockton Heat in the AHL and has 22 goals and 48 points in 48 games. After dominating at the QMJHL level, scoring at a point per game pace in the World Juniors for team Canada and now showing that his game translates very well to the AHL level, this could be a home run swing for the rebuilding Montreal Canadiens if they pull off this trade.

Calgary is definitely all in for a cup run this season!
