No one ever wants to see something get injured, but especially not in this significance. Last night in Brandon Manitoba, 16 year old Charlie Elick suffered a terrible injury.

With only 3 seconds left in the second period, Elick collided with a Prince Albert Raider which sent Elick flying into the boards awkwardly, and he was motionless after landing on the ice.
Late in the second period, the game is suddenly very much a secondary issue. Wheat Kings defenseman Charlie Elick is being stretchered off the ice after a collision on the right wing boards. He went in extremely awkwardly. Both teams training staff were out right away.

Both teams immediately called their medical staff's after seeing Elick hit the boards. The medical staff immediately signalled it was an emergency.
The good sign is Elick gave a thumbs up when he was being taken off, but there has been no update on his current state.
