Ron MacLean's Fate at Hockey Night in Canada Confirmed.
The hockey world was hit with a bombshell just over a week ago, after journalist Howard Berger reported that multiple personalities on Hockey Night in Canada would be ousted before next season.
According to Berger, this group involves everyone except Elliotte Friedman, which would lead to Ron MacLean leaving the show he's hosted since 1986. However, it appears as if MacLean has quashed these rumours.
Sportscaster/former Sportsnet Hockey Central panelist John Shannon claims that, while participating in the annual golf tournament of the Smilezone Foundation, MacLean confirmed personally that he'll be back on Hockey Night in Canada for at least another season.
MacLean, 63, has been a divisive presence for hockey fans in recent years (especially those still harbouring a grudge for his failure to defend Don Cherry after his notorious «you people» rant that got him fired in 2019), but it looks as if he's not ready to leave our TV screens just yet.
