The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking into ways to finally take the next step in their Stanley Cup goals this summer, and now, it appears moving one of the core four could be on the cards.
With the team already being over the cap and an
Auston Matthews extension looming, the Maple Leafs have plenty of work to do, and now, that could mean trading
William Nylander.
Extension talks between the two teams have reportedly stalled in recent times, and with other needs, especially on the blue line, the possibility of a trade is becoming even more realistic.
Nylander to the West Coast?
There's many teams out there that could use a proven young winger like Nylander, but now, Hockey Buzz has linked him to the San Jose Sharks, with the possibility of a blockbuster involving
Erik Karlsson.
The New York Islanders also reportedly had interest in the 27-year old, but are less likely to land him now, so as the Leafs look to figure out their roster and salary cap, the possibility of a trade becomes more and more likely.
