Wanting to bring young superstar and number one draft pick Connor Bedard up-to-speed as quickly as possible, the Chicago Blackhawks brough in some veteran leadership in the offseason and now it sounds as if they are preparing to ship some of it out.
As the team is not expected to be a Stanley Cup contender in Bedard's first season, the option is now on the table to trade gritty winger Corey Perry to a needing contender and NHL Trade Rumors have two potential suitors who could fit the bill.
One of the teams that NHL Trade Rumors have as a potential landing spot for Perry is Tampa Bay, where he played his prior two seasons, tallying 31 goals with 34 assists in his time there.
The Lightning currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with 14 points (5-3-4) but have been very top heavy on their offense. In bringing back the 38-year-old, they would have someone familiar with their system who can provide an edge with some scoring to the bottom two lines.
