I feel like we have been discussing this far more often than in past years, but this years waiver wire has been full of former first round picks and high value names this year, and today another player just got added.
The Buffalo Sabres are off to a fantastic start with a 5-3-0 record and are currently holding a playoff spot surprisingly!
On August 10th, the Sabres signed former first round pick of the Detroit Red Wings from 2010, Riley Sheahan to a one year 'show me' deal worth $950,000.
The veteran of over 600 games has bounced around these past few seasons after starting off his career fairly well with the Red Wings. In 635 games he has 74 goals and 194 points in his career.
Today the Buffalo Sabres announced that Sheahan was put on waivers.
