Today NHL Insider Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff Podcast, revealed that the New York Islanders offered Nazem Kadri a 7 year deal with an AAV of $7,000,000.
According to multiple sources this deal may already be signed and simply not filed with the league exactly like what we heard today about Romanov and Dobson, but according to Seravalli that doesn't align with what he is hearing.
While the Islanders are rumoured to be the most likely destination for Kadri, Seravalli also revealed that the Colorado Avalanche still have an offer on the table for Kadri.
The Avalanche obviously are unable to offer the same cap hit as the Islanders, they apparently wont offer the same term either.
Seravalli says that Colorado has offered Kadri less term than everyone else. Something like 4 years at 6 million.
This deal for Kadri would keep him in Colorado and give him another shot at winning another Stanley Cup, while if he accepts the offer from the Islanders he will make more money but the team has a lot of question marks after missing the playoffs last season and just continuing to get older.
Are the Islanders a playoff team or was last year a preview of their collapse?
Will he decide on a guaranteed shot at a Cup or will he take the guaranteed money?
