One of the biggest conversations of this offseason was what is going to happen with Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun.
The 24 year old former 2016 first round pick is wasting away the prime years of his career in Arizona, a team that has been in a constant rebuild since his arrival.
Chychrun is signed to a very team friendly deal which still has 3 years remaining on a contract that carries a cap hit of $4,600,000.
While im sure he is not a player that the Coyotes would want to trade, it is no longer a ''if it happens'' but it's a matter of ''when''.
Saturday night Sportsnet's Jeff Marek discussed the market for Chychrun and commented that the asking price for him is now ''atleast the equivalent of two 1st round picks.'' This is significantly lower than the original asking price which was two 1st round picks, a top prospect and an NHL ready player.
Marek also mentioned that the LA Kings are the possible favourites now to land Chychrun's services, as they are a team that is very deep in prospects and picks, and are also a team that would benefit from the low contract of Chychrun.
