Heading into the offseason, the Vancouver Canucks were not too active in free agency, but they did sign one of the top free agents available in Ilya Mikheyev.
Just seconds after the free agency opened on July 13th it was announced that the Canucks were signing Mikheyev to a 4 year deal with an AAV of $4,750,000.
The 27 year old Russian was coming off career highs in both goals (21) and points (32).
Unfortunately for Mikheyev, in his first game with the Canucks in pre-season Mikheyev took a hit from a Calgary Flames player and it doesn't look like we will be seeing him anytime soon:
According to NHL Insider Frank Seravelli, Mikheyev might have some ACL problems.
