Soshnikov made his jump to the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2015, where in his first season he recorded 5 points in 11 games. Many thought he was going to develop into a top 6 forward but two seasons of bouncing between the Maple Leafs and the Marlies, he got traded to the Blues, where unfortunately things did not get any better for him.
He then opted to go back to the KHL, where he has been since 2019, and ripped it up his first season playing for Ufa Salavat Yulayev, scoring 48 points in 58 games.
