Dylan Larkin was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings 15th overall back in 2014, and has quietly become one of the best players from that draft. He developed nicely in the Red Wings organization under the leadership of Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg and has blossomed into the leader himself that he is today.

Larkin is coming off a 5 year deal with an AAV of $6,100,000 and is currently a UFA at the end of this season. He is looking to get a pretty substantial raise from his last contract to remain with the Wings organization, and it's not been reported that he has apparently turned an 8 year deal from the Red Wings.

According to Markerzone.com, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press has reported that Larkin has rejected an 8 year deal with an AAV of $8 million.

It is not being reported that Larkin is looking for closer to $9 million on an 8 year deal.
