REPORT: Dylan Larkin apparently REJECTED huge offer from Detroit - Contract demands revealed
Dylan Larkin was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings 15th overall back in 2014, and has quietly become one of the best players from that draft. He developed nicely in the Red Wings organization under the leadership of Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg and has blossomed into the leader himself that he is today.
Larkin is coming off a 5 year deal with an AAV of $6,100,000 and is currently a UFA at the end of this season. He is looking to get a pretty substantial raise from his last contract to remain with the Wings organization, and it's not been reported that he has apparently turned an 8 year deal from the Red Wings.According to Markerzone.com, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press has reported that Larkin has rejected an 8 year deal with an AAV of $8 million.
It is not being reported that Larkin is looking for closer to $9 million on an 8 year deal.
Rumor is Dylan Larkin wants 9m for 8 years. If Detroit doesn't do this you have to think #CBJ are offering that up in free agency. Could be a good decision for him. Close to home and bffs with werenski. The only think is he willing to wait a 2-4 years to be contenders?— CBJ Fan (@5thFanCbj) January 29, 2023
Dylan Larkin reportedly declined eight-year, $8M extension from Red Wings https://t.co/i4CvLhmgeT via @yardbarker
Yes but if Larkin expects a $73.2M contract, he isn't going to get it from another team via UFA. He can only sign 7 years so he'd have to have an AAV of $10.45M.— Tony Rieger🏒 (@sand_slasher) January 30, 2023
