Reminder of the facts: Miller and another teen were were convicted in juvenile court of bullying and abusing Isaiah Meyer-Crothers, a Black and disabled classmate. Miller repeatedly used racial slurs and forced Meyer-Crothers to lick a lollipop he smeared inside a urinal. https://t.co/7PfKa9NoE0— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) November 4, 2022
There is a back and forth rumour going on that Miller had reached out to the victim via social media:
Already appears to be some discrepancies between what #NHLBruins have said regarding Mitchell Miller.
1. Team referred to it as a singular "incident," yet victim's mother says this was "years" of trauma.
2. Joni Meyer-Crothers does not say Miller apologized https://t.co/YCkXG2JOBW Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) November 4, 2022
But the Boston Bruins definitely did not reach out to the family of the victim:
Sweeney on signing Mitchell Miller: "I am not going to downplay that this has been a personal struggle as well as a professional struggle."
They did not reach out to victim's family during vetting process.

What makes this matter worse is that the Boston Bruins players were asked their thoughts on signing him, and they said no, but they did it anyways.
Bruins players were consulted and they asked "why do this?" Should have been enough right there to quash this. Ian McLaren (@iancmclaren) November 4, 2022
