We have some sad news to share with you all today, as reports out of Russia have confirmed that Georgi Savin, a 21-year-old KHL player, has passed away.
Georgi Savin, who was in the Vityaz Podolsk system, passed away at the age of just 21 years old. Sources confirmed that the young man took his own life.
Savin played in 13 KHL games during the 2021-22 season and was set to play for Ryazan-VDV of the VHL next season. We are truly heartbroken by the news of such a young, talented player taking his own life.
Our thoughts are with the Savin family, as well as his friends and teammates.
