The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers continued their battle in game five of the series with the Penguins up 3-1 in the series and it was looking like the Penguins were in full control and it was going to be the Pens moving onto round 2.. That is until Jacob Trouba would nail Sidney Crosby with a very controversial hit to say the least.

From original view it was very hard to tell, but when you slow it down, it definitely looks like Trouba got Crosby with his elbow. Sid was knocked out of the game from that hit, he sat on the bench and tried to get it together but was obviously in some discomfort and left the game.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said that Crosby was being evaluated and did not offer any information on the nature of the injury. As for the hit from Trouba, Sullivan said:
"Did you see the hit? You probably have the same opinion I do." Suggesting the NHL department of player safety look into this hit.

Penguins forward Jake Guentzel had this to say:
"We never want to see a player like that leave, but we have to find a way, he's the best player in the world. That's a lot of minutes other guys have to take up. Next man up."

This looks like it was ''intent to injure'' which is the kind of stuff we want out of this game. Crosby already had concussion issues, so things could be very bad right now for Sidney Crosby.
