Paul Bissonnette has been a fixture on the NHL on TNT with ESPN's revamped coverage. He does bring entertainment to the round table, which is a nice change from the usually boring NHL player interview.
Paul Bissonnette and Seattle mascot "Buoy" fight on live television
In a fun staged event set up to bring entertainment to the NHL Winter Classic on New Year's Day, Paul Bissonnette and Buoy decided to get into a tussle on the air.
As Bissonnette talked Buoy jumped into the screen with massive boxing gloves and began throwing them with Bissonnette. It was clear Bissonnette got the upper hand, especially at the end after he delivered a huge body check, and then an elbow drop the Buoy.
Side note, hopefully, the mascot is okay after Bissonnette appeared to drop his full body weight on the mascot. He definitely is not a trained professional wrestler.
Leading up to the nationally televised scrap
Bissonnette and Buoy had been trading barbs on social media over the past few days to hype up an altercation, almost in a PG-style UFC social media hype-up.
don't hide from me tonight @BizNasty2point0 🧌
On my way to Seattle as we speak you mutant. I'm going to take over your city you ugly SOB. Just watch.
It is clear the Buoy will not forget the altercation and will be waiting for round two when/if Paul Bissonnette comes back to Seattle.
