Paul Bissonnette Shares How He Almost Owned A Professional Hockey Team
Paul Bissonnette nearly owned an ECHL team but the venue was not hearing anything from him for his reputation.
Bissonnette Almost Brings An ECHL Team To Colorado Springs
Former NHLer and hockey personality Paul Bissonnette is quite a controversial figure. Despite this, he has paved the way for many former NHLers to get more involved with the community post-retirement. Bissonnette himself did not make too much in the NHL compared to his fellow players but he has made many smart decisions post-retirement that have put him in a position to succeed.
One of these was starting the Spittin' Chiclets podcast which he still does to this day. On the latest episode, Bissonnette revealed how he tried to start an ECHL franchise in Colorado Springs which would be affiliated with the Colorado Avalanche.
Unfortunately, the venue did not want to hear him out and did not even allow him to give them a pitch.
While unfortunate, it hints at Bissonnette potentially wanting to get involved with team ownership later down the line and if he gets into a situation that sees him able to purchase an NHL team, he may jump at the opportunity.
