Patrick Kane's Time With The Red Wings Possibly Nearing An End Already
Tonight a new report has indicated the Patrick Kane could already have one foot out the door in Detroit despite individual success.
Kane Lighting Up The NHL In His Return
Leading up to Patrick Kane's signing in Detroit there was many questions and doubts about how good Patrick Kane would be. The hip surgery he underwent usually results in the drop off of a hockey player's career. This has not been the case for Patrick Kane so far though.
Kane in his first 11 games with the Detroit Red Wings has 11 points. He has been the all-out offensive star that many wanted to see return.
Despite his incredible play in his return the Detroit Red Wings have struggled as a team. This has many questioning just how long Patrick Kane's stay in Hockeytown will be.
Kane's Time With The Red Wings Nearing An End Already?
Earlier this season when Kane signed it was widely reported he wanted to play with a Stanley Cup contender. When Kane signed in Detroit they were right in the thick of the playoff race. Since Kane has signed on the Red Wings have struggled to win games. They have lost two straight and six of their last seven.
This has led to major trade rumors. Reports from before he signed believe that Kane and the Red Wings might have a gentleman's agreement for Kane to be traded if the Red Wings are not playoff-bound.
It was reported that Kane's camp talked to the Red Wings about the possibility of Detroit not making the postseason and what it could mean for the star forward's trade deadline plans. There is a strong belief that GM Steve Yzerman has committed to trading Kane to a Stanley Cup contender if the Red Wings cannot clinch a playoff spot ahead of the trade deadline.
If the Red Wings cannot get things on track in the coming weeks look for the trade rumors around Patrick Kane to take a major spike up.
