During the final minutes of regulation, of the Edmonton Oilers versus Washington Capitals game, Capitals' Captain Alex Ovechkin was let away with a blatant hooking penalty with his team's goalie pulled.
With the goalie pulled this could have resulted in an awarded goal, but the referees saw no issue with this play. The Capitals of course later scored with under 4 seconds remaining to tie the game and take it to overtime.
Connor McDavid scored the winner in overtime to salvage this game for the Oilers, but this blown call needs to be addressed.
