Oilers Make Historic Signing
As the Oilers look to make major strides on the ice this year and bring a Stanley Cup back to Canada, they are also making history off the ice.
Oilers Add First Ever Female Scout
The team announced that they had hired Dani Rylan Kearny today as a regional scout. Kearny is the first female scout in Oilers history.
Kearny is a former player, having played two seasons for Northeastern University in the NCAA. She also cofounded the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) which has since merged into the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She is the latest in a series of women that have been hired by NHL clubs to front office roles.
Can the Oilers finally win a cup? Perhaps a player Kearny scouts will play a major role on a future cup-winning team.
