According to an Edmonton Oilers beat writer it is expected to be announced the Edmonton Oilers are planning to host another press conference. The expectation among fans seems to be this will likely mark the departure of Dave Tippett.
Tippett is in the final season of his contract and the Oilers remain with very few options left. Ken Holland has already shared he isn't willing to trade his 1st round pick or a top prospect, which limits his options. After a great start the Oilers have come crashing back to earth and now sit 3 spots out of a wild card spot.
Mike Babcock has been rumoured to have been in contact with his old friend and General Manager about being the potential replacement.
Oilers fans seem to have lost a lot of hope as some of the replies to the tweet are painful to read.
