NHL Speaks On 2018 Scandal
The list of players involved in the 2018 WJC scandal is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Recently an investigative reporter for the Athletic Katie Strang asked Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly about the timeline for an announcement. He has this to say:
"In response to the question of whether the NHL will announce a resolution of the investigation into the WJC 2018 before the opening of NHL training camps, the NHL's Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, responded by email that he did not have 'any specific timetable to share at this time' " - Katie Strang
As of now here is the timeline of recent events within the scandal and its investigation.
The NHL has been reportedly on the verge of announcing the suspensions of five players from the 2018 incident. Insider Frank Seravalli indicated that an announcement was imminent over a month ago but clearly, there is something holding this up.
Another insider by the name of Andy Strickland reported that there are major names that were allegedly involved and are facing suspension.
Finally, it was announced yesterday that at least one player who had claimed not to be involved was indeed allegedly involved.
