Max Pacioretty talks about the infamous Chara hit that left him significantly injured
One of the longest hockey rivalries going are the Boston Bruins vs the Montreal Canadiens.
Back on March 8th 2011, a play in which Max Pacioretty was racing for the puck trying to get out of his zone, Zdeno Chara landed a big hit on him and during which catches his head right into the turnbuckle.
While on the Raw Knuckles podcast, Pacioretty had this to say about the incident:
I was so dumb, I was like if I get my head bashed in, then I get it bashed in, If you look at the clock on that play, he pushes my head into the glass. It's a nothing play, it's me being young and stupid, like let me try and win this race at the end of a period that has no relevance on the game at all. Obviously he turns my head into the turnbuckle, but I don't remember anything else. I remember waking up in the hospital.
