It's been a horrible time to be a Calgary Flames fan. After watching the team go all in last season for a chance at the cup, they have now lost their two best players.
Today Matthew Tkachuk officially told Flames General Manager that he does not intend on signing an extension with the Flames.
As Tkachuk is an RFA and without a contract, teams will not be willing to take a chance on Tkachuk and give up a lot in a trade if he is not willing to sign an extension with the team, so Tkachuk also give a list of 5 teams he would be willing to sign an extension with:
St. Louis Blues
Vegas Golden Knights
Florida Panthers
Nashville Predators
Dallas Stars
We already know that the Golden Knights and Florida Panthers do not have the cap space to bring on Matthew Tkachuk, although they'd both love to, so you can count them out. But the Blues, Stars and Predators could definitely swing something to make a deal happen.
If I were a betting man, I would put my money on the Blues managing to make a deal.
