According to Michael Traikos of Post Media the Toronto Maple Leafs have been connected and are in contact with Evander Kane's representatives.
According to Traikos the Maple Leafs are very interested in signing Kane to a one-year show me deal. Traikos source also stated Kane's agent Dan Milstein phone "lit up like a Christmas tree."
Kane had his contract terminated yesterday by the San Jose Sharks and it is reported the 32-year old Kane is looking to "play for a contender" and "isn't concerned about the money."
The Sharks claim that Kane broke COVID protocol, while Kane's camp claims the Sharks had approved Kane's leave.
According to Traikos source connected to Kane the winger has also received interest from Carolina, Edmonton, Florida, Tampa Bay and Vegas bring the total number of teams to 6.
This situation still remains very interesting because if it is found that Kane's contract was terminated illegally he would have two valid NHL contracts if he were to sign.
