Back in the 2010-11 season, Ovechkin was going through a goal scoring slump. After putting up 50 goals, 109 points in 72 games the season before, the Capitals were embarrassingly knocked out of the playoffs after a collapse to the Montreal Canadiens thanks to Jaroslav Halak.
The 2010-11 season, the Capitals players had a rough season stats wise. The team still did well, but individual statistics were way down. Ovechkin produced at the worst goal scoring pace of his career, only scoring 32 goals in 79 games. In this blowout game against the NY Rangers, Ovechkin and the Capitals couldn't buy a goal and he took out his frustration in a fight.
