When you think of the NHL playoffs, you think of low scoring, defensive hockey. Well, game one of the Battle of Alberta between the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers was anything but! The Flames defeated the Oilers 9-6, which is a crazy score for a regular season game, nevermind a playoff game.

After giving up 3 goals on 10 shots in the first 6 minutes of game one, Mike Smith will be getting the start in goal again tonight.
Evander Kane was asked about their chances of winning game 2 tonight, which he responded:
"If we don't give up nine goals tonight, I really like our chances."

Kane has been very good as a member of the Edmonton Oilers, he has produced 39 points in 43 games in the regular season and so far has scored 7 goals and 9 points in 8 playoff games. So he is pulling his weight on the team, but to blame goaltending after one bad loss is a little unprofessional, especially if you consider that despite giving up 3 goals on 10 shots, Mike Smith currently has a .930 save percentage.
