Legendary Player Places His Stanley Cup Rings Up for Auction

After the passing of Montreal Canadiens Legend Guy Lafleur, former Hab Mario Tremblay says he wants to enjoy time he has left and ensure that his family has some funds after he's passed.
The 66 year-old Tremblay, is selling 3 of his 5 Stanley Cup rings. The rings from 1977, 1978 and 1979 will be for auction and are estimated to for between $10,000-$15,000 USD.
Tremblay intends to keep his ring from 1986 as a cherished family item. it was originally gifted to his father, and later returned to the right-winger after his death.
Tremblay is yet another former NHL'er to sell a Stanley Cup rings. It is seen more and more frequently as players look to help the financial standings of themselves, family or charities. Another reason they often sell such great mementos is due to the large collection of goods players collect of the years begin to add up.
