Junior Team Makes A Statement In Regards To Vicious Hit And Massive Suspension

After the suspension was announced the Victoria Royals issued a statement regarding Edwards and his suspension.
The Western Hockey League announced today the suspension of Alex Edwards for 25 games for a check from behind and match penalty, which took place on September 23rd against the Everett Silvertips. The Victoria Royals understand and respect this decision. The entire Royals organization continues to have Dexter Whittle in our thoughts, and we wish him a full recovery.

Due to his actions and the fact that Edwards is a multiple-time offender, he was given a bigger suspension than standard. This has left some fans and media questioning if the suspension is too harsh. Regardless Edwards will be out of the Royals lineup until December. Once he returns all eyes will be on him and his on-ice conduct.
