This offseason came with quite a bit of drama, especially when we saw a John Tavares 2.0 situation occur.

Free agency started on July 13th and on the 12th, Johnny Gaudreau informed the Calgary Flames that he would not be re-signing with the team. Gaudreau instead signed a 7 year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets that came with an AAV of $9,750,000.
For weeks Flames fans were livid with this decision by Gaudreau to leave the team that drafted and developed him and the city even took shots at him during concerts.
One of Gaudreau's former teammates has apparently already been thinking about when the Flames and Blue Jackets meet next season.
Milan Lucic joined the Jesse and JD podcast and was asked about when he gets to play against Gaudreau, which he responded:
Host: I gotta ask, buddy, on January 23rd, when Gaudreau comes back to the Saddledome and you see him cutting across the ice with his head down, I know you guys were buddies for a long time, but do you lay him out or what?

Lucic: Okay, yeah, it will be like before I was a Calgary Flame. You go out there and you try and take a number on the other team's best player.
