Subban is coming off a contract that was originally signed by the Montreal Canadiens, that paid him $72 million over 8 years. He was traded not too long after signing this deal to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Shea Weber, then later traded to the New Jersey Devils.
Subban was drafted 47th overall back in 2007, and last season he scored 5 goals and 22 points while averaging just over 18 minutes of ice time.
The former star defenceman was looking for a new team in free agency after the New Jersey Devils told him they would not be re-signing him, and Subban was hoping to find that perfect fit to rejuvenate his career.
Unfortuantely though, we are almost at the end of the offseason and we still dont see him on a new team.
This is what his agent had to say:
Subban definitely isn't that high scoring Norris calibre defenceman anymore, but given the right opportunity, he can still definitely be a 10+ goal scoring defenceman.
He posses a great first pass and a booming shot, if a team can sign him at league minimum, he could he an absolute steal.
I don't think there's a goal in NHL history that better sums up what I love about this game than PK Subban's breakaway tally against Boston in the 2014 playoffs. The suspense, the rise to the occasion, the raw energy that still radiates off it the moment when you rewatch it today pic.twitter.com/kZk2ZLUpM5— Jeff Veillette (@JeffVeillette) May 25, 2020
