While not known as much of a pot stirrer during his playing days, former St. Louis Blues defenseman Jordan Schmaltz is not afraid to make sure the pot is boiling post-career.
Recently, he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and laid out what he thinks would be best for young Canadiens star winger Juraj Slafkovsky.
In the post, Schmaltz, who played parts of three season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, intimated that maybe a stint in the AHL would suit the former number one overall pick, as things have not changed in his game according to his observations.
Last season the 19-year-old scored four goals and six assists in 39 games with Montreal.
This season, Slafkovsky has registered just one assist over the first ten games, despite averaging two more minutes of ice time this season than in his rookie campaign.
Despite the lack of production, his team is still doing everything they can to bring the youngster up to speed and get him comfortable.
