While the Colorado Avalanche are still enjoying there recently Stanley Cup victory, the Avalanche management has a lot of work on their hands as they have quite a few players who are going to be looking for raises. Some of the most notable names who are currently free agents are: Nazem Kadri, Josh Manson, Valeri Nichuskin, Andrei Burakovsky, Andrew Cogliano, Nico Sturm, Jack Johnson and Darren Helm.
The Avalanche have $25,685,000 in cap space, which sounds like a lot, but when you consider the raise Kadri is going to get and that next season Nathan MacKinnon is also going to get a huge raise, that cap space is going to fill up quick.
One player that is currently a UFA and benefitted from joining the Avalanche this season is Josh Manson, who was brought over at the trade deadline from the Anaheim Ducks for Drew Helleson and round 2 pick in the 2023 draft.
One thing that was not spoken about after the trade was the fact that Manson was not happy about being traded as his wife and child were all settled in Anaheim.
When Manson was asked what is next after winning the cup, he said he wanted to go bak to the Ducks according to Frank Seravalli.
Manson was asked what his desire is, and what's next after winning the cup. He simply said to go back to the Ducks, NHL insider Frank Servalli reported.
