Chris Kreider Reveals the Serious Tension in the Rangers Locker Room
The New York Rangers had a disappointing postseason last year, getting eliminated in the first round by the New Jersey Devils after winning both games 1 and 2 to start the series. It's clear that some players on the roster are taking the loss to heart.
Kris Kreider is one of the Ranger's long-time players, being with the franchise for over 10 years. He has been through tough seasons and had this to say about the playoff loss.
"I think like every guy on that team, I've got a pit in my stomach. I expect that to turn into a bit of a chip on everyone's shoulder."
It is always tough for teams to bounce back after a playoff loss, and will be especially so for the Rangers, a team that made big acquisitions last year at the deadline to go all in on a Stanley Cup run. The Rangers acquired the likes of Kane and Tarasenko in hopes of getting deep into the playoffs. A first-round exit was well short of expectations.
Kreider's comments illustrate the feeling in the locker room. The long-time Ranger expects all of his teammates to have that chip on their shoulders heading into this season.
