Caufield AHL Bound?

Saying the Canadiens have struggled to start the season would be an understatement. Maybe they're struggling with the Stanley Cup hangover without the Stanley Cup? It's not just the overall team that's struggling though, but prized prospect Cole Caufield is struggling as well.
Caufield had 4 goals and 8 assists in 20 games during the Habs quest for the Cup last summer. Many had penciled Caufield in for top line minutes and most betting sites had Caufield as one of the favourites to win the Calder Trophy.
To say this season has been a disaster for Caufield would also be an understatement. He has one assist and hasn't buried any of his 22 shots on goal, but even more concerning is Caufield doesn't look anywhere near as dangerous as he did last season. He looks like he's clearly struggling with and without the puck.
So when asked if the AHL was a possibility Dominique Ducharme said:
"We are looking at all possibilities for all players."
Not the ringing endorsement you'd hope for your top prospect and with a year already burned on his entry level contract you'd hope the Habs can find a solution for Caufield sooner than later.
