The Carolina Hurricanes are at risk of possibly losing one of their core defensemen very soon.

Pesce Drawing Pacific Division Interest

Canes defenseman Brett Pesce is entering the final year of his contract that will see him earn a rounded $4 million, but the talks of an extension between him and the team have been very quiet.
Pesce, a 28 year old skilled defenseman, had possibly the best season to date in his career as he put up 30 points and a plus-43 in a full 82 games played. After this performance, the Calgary Flames and Seattle Kraken have been reported to have significant interest in Pesce.

Trade Looming?

It could be likely that a deal gets done for Pesce to be moved to either of these teams, as he would be a tremendous fit for either franchise.
For this season and his current contract, Pesce does have a specific no-trade clause with a list of the teams that he would approve a deal with.
There is no doubt that he would get significant playing time with either Calgary or Seattle, but as this situation develops, we will see what the Hurricanes decide to do with one of their primary pieces to their defensive core.
