Breaking: Avalanche and Predators Make a Trade
The Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche completed a trade in the last few minutes.
The Colorado acquire Ryan Johansen in exchange for the rights of Alex Galchenyuk.
Here's the official announcement from the Predators:
"Incoming General Manager Barry Trotz announced today that the team has acquired forward Alex Galchenyuk from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Ryan Johansen."
This is a solid move for Trotz, who clears up much needed cap space in Nashville.
They'll retain half of his $8M salary for two years, and will surely sign Galchenyuk for somewhere near the NHL's minimum wage.
