Backstrom and Ovechkin could hit 3 incredible milestones tomorrow night
Alexander Ovechkin was drafted in 2004, while Nicklas Backstrom was drafted in 2006, and for 15 years now we have gotten to see this dynamic duo terrorize the NHL. Ovechkin was even the one to announce Backstrom's name at the 2006 NHL entry draft.

The two have had instant chemistry from the moment Backstrom entered the league in the 2007-08 season, which was seen the two rack up points, year after year.

Tuesday night when the Washington Capitals visit the Calgary Flames, it will be officially the 1000th game the duo has played together in the NHL: Milestone #1.
With a goal against the Seattle Kraken, Ovechkin is now at 764 and if he manages to score 2 goals against the Calgary Flames, he will tie the great Jaromir Jagr for 3rd all time: Milestone #2.
How familiar does this sound? In the same game against Seattle, Backstrom recorded an assist on Ovechkin's powerplay goal, which gave Backstrom point #997. If Backstrom can score 3 points against Calgary, it will give him point #1000: Milestone #3.
