The Ottawa Senators have been an exciting team to watch this offseason. For the first time in years, they've actually been opening up their chequebooks and made a splash.
At the 2022 NHL Draft, they traded their first round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for two-time 40 goal scorer, Alex Debrincat. Then they brought in veteran former 100 point scorer Claude Giroux.
We also saw the Senators sign Josh Norris and Matheiu Joseph to massive contract extensions, and it looks like we will be seeing the same Ottawa Senators players for a long time as they just signed former 3rd overall pick Tim Stutzle to a large extension as well.
Stutzle is in the final year of his entry level deal and put up 58 points in 79 games last season. If he continues to develop on the pace he is at, this deal will be one of the best bargains in the NHL.
