The waiver wire has been revealed and there are many young first-round picks up for grabs as potential reclamation projects.

Many Talented Players On Waivers

Insider Chris Johnston has just revealed the players on the waiver wire which includes many former first-round picks.
Placed on NHL waivers today: Lassi Thomson (OTT), Josh Currie (OTT), Dillon Heatherington (OTT), Garrett Pilon (OTT), Nicolas Beaudin (MTL), Lucas Condotta (MTL), Brady Keeper (MTL), Mitchell Stephens (MTL), Drake Caggiula (EDM), Greg McKegg (EDM), Justin Richards (BUF), Devin Cooley (BUF), Dustin Tokarski (BUF), Anthony Angello (NSH), Kevin Gravel (NSH), Troy Grosenick (NSH), Jordan Gross (NSH), Jake Leschyshyn (NYR), Byron Froese (VGK), Mason Geertsen (VGK), Dysin Mayo (VGK), Gage Quinney (VGK), Sheldon Rempal (VGK) and Jonas Rondbjerg (VGK).

Of these players, Lassi Thomspon was the 19th overall pick in 2019. He is still quite young and could be a perfect project for a team looking for a future top-four defenseman.
Nicolas Beaudin was the 27th overall pick in 2018 and could provide a kick to a team that needs offense from the blue line.
