After winning his first ever Vezina trophy as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, Fleury was traded to the Blackhawks in the offseason for next to nothing.

After making a few offseason trades, the Blackhawks thought that bringing in Fleury was the final piece they needed to be a threat for the Stanley Cup again, like they were between 2010-2015.

We are now in March and the Blackhawks are sitting 2nd last in the Central division so it looks like more than just a goaltender was needed.

Fleury Is on the final year of a contract and at the age of 37 he doesn't have too many years left in him to compete for another cup.

It has been rumoured that Fleury shut down a trade to the Washington Capitals after his loyalty to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but other teams have been interested as well.

We learned this week that Fleury has stated he would like to remain a member of the Blackhawks for the remainder of the season, but with the Hawks currently entering a rebuild and Fleury only having a 10-team no trade clause, if the Hawks can find a team outside of those 10 teams that would like his services, Fleury may not have a choice but to go wear another teams sweater this season.
